Rocketfarm AS: Volunteer System

The Volunteer Management System project for Rocketfarm AS, an innovative software development company known for creating impactful digital solutions, ran from July 2015 to April 2017. We provided services such as IT Staff Augmentation, Custom Software Development, Web Development, Mobile App Development, and API Development. This project aimed to improve and maintain a web application that helped organizations manage their volunteers and teams for various events. The system allowed managers to approve volunteers, communicate with them, and organize schedules efficiently. Key tasks included exporting data to Excel, sending SMS updates to volunteers, building a REST API for better app performance, and using advanced frontend technology to enhance development and user experience. The tech stack included Ruby 1.9.3 (later updated to 2.4.2), Ruby on Rails 4 (latest version 5.1.4), jQuery, CoffeeScript, and PostgreSQL. Our team was made up of one UI/UX designer, one backend developer, and one frontend developer. This project had an international reach, involving collaboration between teams in Poland and Norway, and it served Norwegian clients and users.
